Morality has no value unless it has something transcending itself which gives it value.

- I know that the original intention of this was as a religious quote, but I think that it is applicable far beyond just that scope; we can decree what is morally right and wrong, but unless people are willing to put this into practise in their lives, what good does the original judgement have (after all, isn’t religion just mass-scale acceptance of a set of morals, but with the need for a transcendental figure to decree them as right?)
